A Night to Remember: EO Melbourne’s Annual Awards & Gala Dinner 2025

On Saturday, 21 June, the Grand Ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne, was filled with energy, elegance and emotion as EO Melbourne gathered for the most anticipated event of the year: the Annual Awards & Gala Dinner.

More than a celebration, the evening marked the close of an incredible financial year, honoured outstanding achievements, and welcomed the chapter’s new leadership. Guests arrived in style, caught up with peers and friends, and embraced the spirit of connection that defines the EO experience. The night was expertly hosted by EO Melbourne Accelerator, Benny Gregs.

One of the most applauded moments was the announcement of Ash Woodcock as Entrepreneur of the Year. Ash received more nominations than any other contender, with members recognising their exceptional growth and determination. Ash has grown their business by 160% in just three years, expanded into new states across Australia, and is now exploring international markets. Alongside business success, Ash also achieved personal transformation, overhauling their health and completing a full marathon within a year. Members described Ash as ambitious, humble and driven—a clear reflection of EO values in action.

Another emotional highlight came with the presentation of the President’s Award to Simon Collins. Known for his quiet leadership and unwavering generosity, Simon consistently stepped up throughout the year without seeking recognition. He gave time, energy and heart to the EO community, supported fellow members through challenges, and earned deep respect across the chapter. Simon’s commitment to service and his genuine care for others made him a truly deserving recipient.

The evening also marked the formal gavel handover from outgoing President Costa Vasili to incoming President John Bevitt. Costa reflected on a year defined by growth and unity, while John outlined his vision for the year ahead. As the new financial year begins, John leads a dynamic board:

President: John Bevitt
Communications Chair: Costa Vasili
Accelerator Chair: Ryan Spaccavento
Finance Chair: Anthony Lam
Forum Chair: Jacob Spencer
Forum Co-Chair: Graham McNicol
Priority Programs Chair (Key Executive, Mentorship and MyEO): Shan Manickam
Learning Co-Chairs: Janice Tan, Vince Lebon and Natalia Scheidegger
Membership Chair: James Murray
Membership Co-Chair: Rick Bazerghi
Strategic Alliance Chair: Simon Collins and Dim Nedanovski

In addition to the major awards, the evening also recognised other outstanding contributions within the community. Forum Una, led by Moderator Edison Nguyen, took home the Forum Cup Champion award. Jane Save was named Accelerator of the Year. The Values Awards celebrated EO members who embody the organisation’s guiding principles: Costa Vasili (Together We Grow), Rick Bazerghi (Trust and Respect; Thirst for Learning), and James Murray and Ben Simpson (Think Big, Be Bold).

The night didn’t end when the awards did. Post-event drinks continued the celebrations in style, offering more time for connection, reflection and a few dancefloor moves.

The 2025 Annual Awards & Gala Dinner reminded us why EO Melbourne remains such a powerful community—one where success is shared, leadership is earned, and growth is always a collective pursuit.
