What if achieving 10x growth wasn't about doing more, but about doing fewer things better?
That was the challenge at the heart of EO Melbourne's The 10x Shift: Bigger Growth, Fewer Things workshop, held on Monday, 26 October 2026, at Greenfields and facilitated by Adam Harris and Debra Chantry-Taylor from Business Action, one of EO Melbourne's Strategic Alliance Partners.
With 2027 approaching, the workshop gave members an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands of running their businesses, challenge their thinking and reconsider what it really takes to achieve their next stage of growth.
Rather than focusing on doing more, the hands-on session encouraged members to identify where they create the most value, what consumes their time without delivering meaningful returns and which activities, systems or processes may be holding their businesses back.
One of the key takeaways was the importance of knowing what to stop doing to achieve bigger growth. For entrepreneurs accustomed to solving problems and taking on more responsibilities, the workshop offered a different perspective: sometimes, greater progress comes from sharper focus and fewer priorities.
Another powerful theme was the shift from being the person who solves everything to becoming a leader who empowers others. Members were challenged to consider whether constantly stepping in to fix problems was helping their teams grow or unintentionally creating bottlenecks. Building stronger people and systems, and allowing teams to take greater ownership, emerged as important steps towards sustainable growth.
Throughout the workshop, members applied practical frameworks to their own businesses, reflected on their leadership approaches and identified what they needed to start, stop and continue doing as they prepared for 2027.
The 10x Shift was a timely reminder that achieving significant growth doesn't necessarily mean working harder or taking on more. Sometimes, it requires letting go, trusting others and becoming a different kind of leader.
A big thank you to Adam Harris, Debra Chantry-Taylor and Business Action for delivering an insightful and practical workshop that challenged EO Melbourne members to rethink their approach to growth and move into 2027 with greater clarity, focus and purpose.
